As San Diego’s leader in video production, digital video editing and live event presentations, Passage Productions was called upon to produce the tribute/induction video for Neal and Linden Blue, the 2009 inductees. The challenge was to tell the amazing story of the “Flying Blue Brothers” through a series of interviews, photo imagery and graphics. The Hall of Fame event was an overwhelming success, with the following story captivating the CONNECT.org audience.
NEAL and LINDEN BLUE
Beginning as a summer trip to Latin America in 1957, Neal and Linden Blue captured the world’s attention while piloting a Piper Tri-Pacer airplane alone over the Andes. …this would be the beginning of their incredible life’s journey. Their trip was featured on the cover of Life Magazine with the title “The Flying Blue Brothers”.
As young entrepreneurs, the Blue Brothers showed early signs as visionaries, recognizing an international business opportunity by buying a cocoa and banana plantation in Nicaragua. But their life’s voyage had not been without a few setbacks, such as Linden’s capture and imprisoning by Fidel Castro over Cuba.
After serving in the United States Air Force, Neal and Linden Blue would spend the next 20 years implementing their resourcefulness and leadership techniques to achieve varied commercial success. In 1986, the Blue brothers capitalized on the opportunity to buy General Atomics from Chevron, motivated by the ambitious prospects in this new arena.
Under the leadership of the Blue Brothers, the General Atomics aerospace division developed the revolutionary Predator unmanned aerial vehicle. Deployed in 1995, the Predator found success in drone engineering and implementation where others had failed. Epitomizing American ingenuity in surveillance and combat, the Predator is now an invaluable tool for the armed forces, and helps to keep American soldiers out of harm’s way.
General Atomics has grown to become an international and diversified world leader in the high technology sector, while maintaining a commitment to nuclear fusion, fission, laser technologies, ultra wide-band telecommunications, biofuels and electromagnetic propulsion technologies.
Widely recognized as passionate and focused, Neal and Linden Blue display the same commitment to execution as they did when America first took notice over 50 years ago.

Passage Productions produces series of lecture videos for the Research Society on Alcoholism in Washington D.C. The videos were captured during recent travel to the nation’s capital and include footage of lecture modules by the world’s prominent experts in the field.
Passage was hired to cover the series as national leader’s in the area of event and lecture filming, as well as corporate archiving. The event, held at the Grand Hyat, Washington D. C., included the special address “Alcohol Research: Now and the Future” by Dr. Ting-Kai Li, M.D., Director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.
The videos will be used as archival material for reference and research.
ABOUT RSA: The Research Society on Alcoholism (RSA) provides a forum for communication among researchers, who share common interests, in alcoholism. The Society’s purpose is to promote research that can lead the way toward prevention and treatment of alcoholism.
ABOUT NIAAA: NIAAA provides leadership in the national effort to reduce alcohol-related problems by:
- Conducting and supporting research in a wide range of scientific areas including genetics, neuroscience, epidemiology, health risks and benefits of alcohol consumption, prevention, and treatment
- Coordinating and collaborating with other research institutes and Federal Programs on alcohol-related issues
- Collaborating with international, national, state, and local institutions, organizations, agencies, and programs engaged in alcohol-related work
- Translating and disseminating research findings to health care providers, researchers, policymakers, and the public

Passage Productions has produced a series of web videos for Superagent.com, a new and groundbreaking web service that evaluates and compares 180 health care plans in less than two minutes. The production included script development to introduce and explain this automated service, a green screen video session at the Passage Productions studio, and on-screen talent presentation.
According to Superagent.com, Passage Productions was chosen among multiple candidates in the Southern California region because of their extensive experience in web video production and expert knowledge in HD presentations. Also a factor was Passage Productions ability to produce all aspects of the web videos in-house, making updates, revisions and turn-around times most expedient, which helped to fit Superagent.com’s rushed timeline.
