The bread and butter of San Diego’s video production community has commonly been the corporate/biotech companies. While the work isn’t the most glamourous, it offers a sense of stability and reliability. However, if one looks at the hallmark moments of any renowned production house, you might find that springboard that launched them to the next level was getting the attention of an Ad Agency.

Passage Productions
is proud to announce two new agencies to our client roster: AM-Stratagies(one of the largest agencies in San Diego) and the Jayne Hancock Group. This has been a very exciting month. We have taken the preverbal “baby steps” with these companies as they have tested the Passage waters. Now the flood gates are open. It’s a wonderful feeling working with people in this industry that have vision , and appreciate the level of quality we put into every project we develop. We feel that offering the outstanding production value to these projects empowers these agencies to go to their clients and say “Sure. We can do that. But, we can also do THIS!”(insert stunned faces)

We will be posting some of these new completed projects in a few weeks on passageproductions.com.

“Transformers” the movie was a bit of a disappointment to anyone who saw this film expecting something amazing, or at least, something that was somewhat entertaining.

First of all, the acting was atrocious. I have seen better performances from people who flunked out of soap opera acting school.

Second, the script was probably written by a 15 year old. How these people make it into the movie business is beyond me. I’m thinking the studios probably tore apart some fan’s awesome script to create this commercial slop, while sitting around a board room and discussing how they can make their money in merchandising rather than actually producing a quality film. I mean c’mon, “Die Hard 4″, “Rocky Balboa”, “Basic Instinct 2″, “John RAMBO”, ummm…… do we not have any original ideas anymore or can we expect that our past will return every 20 years to haunt us in a crappy Hollywood sequel or remake. Here is what I remember from the movie…some soldiers are listening to their Apple Ipods, a dorky kid gets a GMC car, some government agent slips a Panasonic card into an Apple computer, a GMC transforms into a robot, the Panasonic card is used for hacking, a government agent is using his Apple computer to break complex codes, Oh yeah… a GMC car turns into a robot.

Last, but not least, the Director. Well… Michael Bay is now officially the worst director of all time, in my book. This guy must be a cousin, brother or husband of some bigshot in Hollywood because I don’t know how he keeps getting work. Keep in mind that this is the same guy who made those awesome Tina Turner and Lionel Ritchie music videos that you all loved. He should change his name to Michael Bomb-Bay after this one. Can Michael Bay transform into someone talented?
