The new 4K camera by red (an affiliate of Oakley) will set the standard for the next generation HD formats. Those who are hoping to settle down for the next 10 years with the HDDVD and Blu-ray formats will need to think twice before making that commitment. The “Red” camera shoots in 4520 X 2540 pixels which is almost 4 times the size of the most popular 1080 resolution. Passage Productions hopes to adopt the “Red” camera as our standard format, giving our clients the absolute best quality offered in San Diego video production. Who knows where this technology will lead? The possibilities are endless.
Paris Hilton in Jail isn’t the only good news today. We are announcing the near completion of the newest “Elan” video. This video is comprised entirely of green screen elements and compositing special effects. You will need to check it out on our website at www.passageproductions.com once the video is complete. Also, the Padres swept the Dodgers in and 6-5 win last night…It was an amazing finish to what I thought was going to be a sad end to the 2 game win streak. Go Padres!
That’s Right! Passage Productions has just tuned up the engine that drives 99% of all our projects. It’s been nearly two years since Apple did a major upgrade to their award winning video suite (Final Cut Studio), and it was worth the wait. This means our clients will get their projects delivered faster, and with more flexibility than ever before.
For us, it means that mixing high-definition footage and standard-definition can coexist peaceably in the same project. This is a bridge that industry is crossing as we move into a high-def standard. As older projects are updated with new high-definition footage, it can be a complicated process to make them coexist. Passage Productions had to deal with this issue on a documentary we produced “Clearwater”. Using the Panasonic HVX-200, we shot in 1080p HD, 720p HD, and standard definition. Needless to say, nearly 1/4 of the time of the entire post process was conforming the footage into one project. BUT NO LONGER!!!
I personally am very excited about all the new features in this version, and can’t wait to see how much further we can push the envelope on future projects. Especially since our next upgrade will add Blu-Ray and HD-DVD authoring and burning to our list of services.
THE FUTURE IS NOW!
We’ve updated our site with our latest projects and added a Client Login link from our homepage at www.PassageProductions.com.
